PSA is an instructional sailing program for juniors, ages 8 and up. It is conducted from late June to mid-August at the Pettipaug Yacht Club. There are two three-week sessions during the season; each session is divided into morning and afternoon classes. Morning classes typically are for beginners and junior sailors ages 8 to 11, when the winds are usually the lightest. Afternoon classes are for older returning sailors.
PSA is all about FUN on the water and teaching many important life lessons along the way – sailing/racing skills, adapting to the forces of nature, personal responsibility and sportsmanship to name a few.
Classes are conducted in: Optimist dinghies, 420s, O'pen Skiffs and ILCAG's (Radial Lasers). Boat ownership is not required.
The PSA Director is supported by certified US Sailing instructors trained in first aid and CPR.
We currently have openings for Sailing Instructors and Junior Instructors. >> see requirements
